Moreton Bay Tools
Did you know Moreton Bay Websites’ WordPress Website Package comes with Moreton Bay Tools plugin for free?
Moreton Bay Tools is a collection of feature enhancements for WordPress. It includes features to make configuration of your WordPress website quicker and more feature rich, as well as adding features that would normally require additional plugins.
Website and Page CSS – the theme customizer often lets you set additional CSS for the website. Moreton Bay Tools CSS lets you to easily add CSS to the website as well as to specific pages or posts. It saves having to publish CSS on every page when it is only needed in one page.
Under Construction – Often only needed when first creating your website, Under Construction prevents anyone from seeing the website too early. A special key allows anyone who should see it while it is being created to see the website normally.
SEO – When all you need is the basics, the built in SEO features in Moreton Bay Websites does the job without needing another plugin with pesky nag messages. Set meta title and description, exclude pages from the sitemap, exclude pages from robots (nofollow, noindex, noarchive), and exclude all pages on development websites.
Analytics and Tracking – Google Analytics support is provided by several plugins. Some SEO plugins, some themes, some other plugins, support analytics of one or more services. Moreton Bay Tools lets you set the analytics and tracking information for Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Facebook Pixel, HubSpot Tracker, and custom code when required, from one place. You are not stuck with an SEO plugin just to keep Google Analytics running, and optionally choose to disable analytics and tracking for Administrator users.
Page Categories, Tags and Excerpts – These useful features are available to blog posts but not for pages. Enable categories, tags, and excerpts for pages and utilise them for more advanced features, such as using different page layouts using GeneratePress elements based on the page’s category, and having a short page description in the excerpt for search results display.
WooCommerce Enhancements – If you have WooCommerce installed or have a WordPress Online Store Package, there are a few options to enhance and modify how WooCommerce operates with features normally requiring a separate plugin to achieve. Many of these options allow for terminology changes, such as Add to Quote instead of Add to Cart when WooCommerce is being used for quotes rather than sales. A more functional enhancement is the Check Postcode Delivery to indicate if delivery is available – useful for businesses that only deliver to surrounding areas, such as florists or food businesses. New in version 1.50 is the ability to enable the Block Editor for product descriptions, allowing significantly improved design capability for displaying product information.
Cookie Consent Banner – Cookie consent is quickly becoming a requirement for all websites. Jurisdictional laws are being added, it is no longer just GDPR anymore. Some services require consent for them to function correctly or risk losing access to those services. Cookie consent banner is an optional enhancement to display a banner, accept or reject Google Consent only, or for both Google Consent and Microsoft Consent.
As a new WordPress user, you should go to your dashboard to delete this page and create new pages for your content. Have fun!
